As a result of the Company’s strategy to expand into higher-growth markets outside of Alabama, which began in 1996, the landscape of Colonial’s geographic concentration of assets and deposits has dramatically changed.

From 2000 to 2003, five states in the U.S. had over 6% growth in population: Colonial is in four of them – Florida, Georgia, Texas, Nevada
32% of the total population growth in the U.S. came from those states
68% of non-time deposits are in Florida, Georgia, Texas and Nevada

Colonial’s Florida franchise is located in areas that represent 80% of the state’s population and 76% of the state’s total deposits. The population in our Florida markets is projected to grow better than the rate for the entire state and the U.S. through 2025.
